Empowerment and Social Investment
As a division of Dimension Data, IS is a signatory to the company’s statement of intent with regard to BEE. Our initiatives are broad-based and cover the full spectrum of areas identified by the BEE Commission and set out in the 2003 BBBEE Act. IS is dedicated to ensuring all intellectual capital initiatives are underpinned by a commitment to employment equity and skills development requirements. IS has been certified as a level 3 contributer to BEE (110% compliant). IS is a value-added supplier, enabling clients to claim 135% of their expenditure with Internet Solutions and BBBEE spend.
Our CSI initiatives are focused on community education projects, HIV initiatives and on the services contribution aspect, IS places special emphasis on helping learners gain access to the internet. IS has been nominated on many occasions as one of South Africa’s leading CSI companies.
In 2007 IS adopted the Tshwaragano Primary School as its primary CSI initiative. IS has been actively involved in the improvement of this school and coupled with Dimension Data, new classrooms; a library; winter tracksuits and teacher sponsorships have been provided. 2008 saw the launch of a Bakery on the school premises, assisting in addressing the food shortage issues and empowering the school to create a source of income in order to better sustain itself
