Yvette Adounvo Atekpe has been managing customer focused organisations in the Telecommunications and IT sector for over 17 years and has been proactively involved in establishing world-class customer service teams and processes for successful start-up ICT organisations in Africa.
Yvette handled the sales and marketing portfolio for Interlink Communications, a regional distributor for Rank Xerox and British Telecom in Ghana and Francophone West Africa and established the customer service department for the joint venture between AT&T and KIL Ghana Ltd.
Yvette’s passion for outstanding service delivery was evident during her tenure with Celltel Communications Ghana Ltd as Commercial Manager for Ghana, where she designed effective policies and strategies which propelled the organisation to become an industry standard for customer service delivery in Ghana.
She was subsequently made a member of the National Communications Policy Planning Committee, which sought to draft and implement an effective Communications Policy for Ghana in 1999.
She has held various management roles within Africa Online and Accelon Ghana as Regional Managing Director for Accelon Ghana Limited. Yvette successfully steered the organisation through its acquisition by Dimension Data Middle East and Africa. Accelon evolved under her able leadership to become Internet Solutions Ghana Limited (A division of Dimension Data). As its Regional Managing Director, Yvette is currently charged with business development in Ghana and expansion in to the Sub-region.
She studied Law and Philosophy at the University of Ghana, with a major in Sociology. Yvette further graduated with honours in Marketing of Services from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands, and a post graduate in Business Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.
Yvette currently serves as Director on the board of various Private Corporate Organisations in Ghana and on the board of the Ghana Internet Service Providers Association (GISPA) as its Director for Communication.
Yvette is passionate about advancing the status of women and children in society and serves on the board of Zonta Club of Accra II, and is the Board Chair for Zonta District 18 Young Women in Public Affairs.
