Internet Solutions’ (IS') Carrier Business Unit provides last-mile physical connectivity. This is done either through our last-mile agency relationships with other providers by offering selective self-provisioning. Last-mile connectivity is provided through fibre, wireless, satellite and GSM-based technologies.

 

With the landmark decision in 2009, the telecommunications landscape has changed dramatically. ICASA has converted  IS' licence to an Electronic Communication Network Service licence , effectively allowing IS to self-provision telecommunication facilities. This means that IS can build its own telecoms infrastructure. IS offers services using VSAT wireless bands, as well as fibre networks.

 

By offering our own services and those of other network access providers, we ensure our coverage is extended as widely as possible, as well as offering a choice of service providers for true redundancy.
