Core People
Core People (Pty) Ltd, formerly a subsidiary of IOCORE (Pty) Ltd, is an accredited SAP Services Partner and Hosting Partner. In March 2004 the IOCORE group underwent a restructure and Internet Solutions together with management acquired Core People, the SAP solutions business. The deal is in line with IS’ strategy of moving “Beyond the Network”, whereby IS provides solutions beyond pure infrastructure, and moves up the value chain into various outsourced, hosted application services.
This deal acts as a spring board for IS to compete in the Application Support and Hosted Solution space. IS has the infrastructure, the services and a customer base and Core People will bring the SAP skills and their customer base to the party. Within the Hosting Partnership is the Application Service Provision (ASP) offering. It is an exciting program aimed at SME’s with 50 users or less, and is underwritten by SAP Africa. It differs from our more traditional hosting offering in the sense that SAP licenses are rented from Core People, per user, for a fixed monthly fee that includes basic support. Larger hosted clients own their SAP licenses. Licenses rented under the ASP model are free from annual license fees.
The license agreement is quite flexible, in the sense that clients may add or delete users within certain limits without compromising their service levels. Apart from the difference in the way they are licensed, our hosted and ASP clients enjoy the same services.
