Managing Director

Derek was appointed Managing Director of Internet Solutions in October 2009. He joined the Dimension Data Group in 1995 as founding Managing Director of Internet Solutions subsidiary Trusted Network Solutions and joined Internet Solutions a year later (1996), becoming a board member and holding a number of Executive positions during his six years with the company; including the post of Managing Director from 1998 – 2001.

In 2001, Derek was appointed as Executive for Strategy & Technology for the Dimension Data brand, and was a key figure in steering Dimension Data Middle East & Africa through the 2002/03 ICT sector downturn, and also in developing and executing the Group’s growth strategy post this period, which has delivered five years of year on year growth. Derek assumed the position of Services Executive for the region in 2006, and was instrumental in growing a highly successful annuity and managed services business model.

Derek holds a B.Econ.Sc and a B.Sc (Hons) (Computer Science) from the University of the Witwatersrand and has completed the Executive Program in Strategy & Organisation at Stanford and the Postgraduate Professional Course in Corporate Finance at the University of London.

Chief Operating Officer

Tony joined IS in 1996 in a sales position. He has managed various Business Units at IS. Moving into Sales Management, Tony spent three years as the company’s Sales Director before taking on the role of COO responsible for IS Sales, Information Technology, Escalations and Service management. He has a BTech and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. Tony is an IS Divisional Director.

Chief Technology Officer

Prenesh joined IS as an engineer in 1998, holding various technical and senior Operations positions. With a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Prenesh started out in the financial services sector as a field engineer, then joined IBM as a Technical Specialist. Prenesh is an IS Divisional Director.

Business Solutions Director

Hillel is responsible for the customer facing business units that develop and market the IS service set. Hillel joined IS in 1997,and has played a number of executive roles at IS, including Director New Business Development, and Legal and Regulatory. He holds Bcom and LLB degrees and an MBA from the Wits Business School. Hillel is an IS Divisional Director.

Sales Director

Regulatory Executive

Siyabonga joined IS in 2004. Prior to joining IS, Siyabonga was head of ICASA’s Legal and Regulatory Affairs and also held a concurrent position of Project Director for the licensing process of the SNO (now Neotel). He has overall responsibility on regulatory matters that relate to both Dimension Data and Internet Solutions and he also sits on the Board of Dimension Data Africa and Middle East as well as being an IS Divisional Director. Siyabonga completed his junior degree at UCT where he studied BA – Law and then conducted his post – graduate studies at the University of Natal (PMB) where he completed his LLB Degree, followed by completion of his legal articles.

Chief Information Officer

Andrew joined IS in 2007 as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Having been in the South African computer industry since the early seventies, he has a broad base of experience ranging from technical software development to sales. His career has encompassed the full spectrum of management including consulting. Andrew has a M.Sc in Computer Science as well as a MBL.

Service Management Executive

Stuart joined Internet Solutions as the Access Product Manager in April 2002 and moved into a sales management position in 2003. He is the Service Management Executive at IS responsible for service delivery to the company’s top 200 clients. Stuart completed his qualification through the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICIS) in 1999.

Business Unit Commercial Executive

Dean works with all the IS Business Units, assisting with strategy, growth and financial controls. He joined IS as a Financial Manager in 2001. He moved out of finance in 2005 to start the new IS Broadband Business Unit which he managed for a year. Dean qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) and served articles at Fisher Hoffmann Sithole before moving on to the UK where he worked in financial services for two years, subsequently completing all three levels of his Chartered Financial Analyst studies.
