Internet Solutions founded.
1994
IS installs the first fibre optic link (64kbps) from South Africa to Sprint in the USA via SAT-2.
1995

IS forms Trusted Network Solutions, South Africa's first network security business.

1996

Dimension Data acquires 25% of IS.

IS launches the Ananzi search engine.  IS commercial (e-Commerce) and ICON.

Staff complement exceeds 100.

1997
IS rolls out its first international PoP in New York and launches South Africa's first Internet-based VPN service.

Dimension Data acquires the remaining 75% of IS.
1998
1000th Corporate customer connected.

IS launches South Africa's first multi-layered Hosting service.
1999
IS Installs first 45 Mbps T3 international link to the USA.

VRAS and VISP divisions commence operations.
2000
IS Merges with OmniLink, creating South Africa's leading Network Service company.

IS reaches a capacity of over 100 Mbps of International bandwidth.

South Africa's first MPLS VPN launched.
2001
IS launches South Africa's first unified messaging service and revolutionises the fax industry.
2002
IS moves to The Campus and establishes its second state-of-the-art Internet Data Centre (IDC) to complement the IDC in Rosebank.

IS receives the Cisco Powered Network certification for Managed Security Services (CPN-MSS), becoming the only MSSP outside of the USA to have received such an accreditation.
2003
IS celebrates ten consecutive years as the leading provider of e-Business solutions.

IS exceeds 200 Mbps of International bandwidth on SAT 3.

Partnership with BT, AT&T, Cables&Wireless and Massergy creates additional 7200 Mbps of International bandwidth availability.
2004
Andile Ngcaba appointed Chairman Designate of majority shareholder Dimension Data.

IS expands its services into Africa.

IS rolls out services to companies operating across the continent and into the rest of the world.

IS becomes the only service provider that has 4 separate mediums of connectivity out of South Africa.
2005

Staff complement exceeds 500.
With the deregulation of VoIP, IS enters the convergence market.

New PoPs established in Germany, Ghana, Nigeria, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mauritius and Hong Kong.
2006
IS becomes a wholly owned division of Dimension Data.

IS launches its first African operation in Kenya.

IS Launches www.pixelsforcharity.co.za , a website that aims to raise R1m for charity by selling a million pixels at R1 each.

2007
IS reaches an international bandwidth capacity of 1.5 Gbps, distributed over satellite and the SAT 3, SAT 2 and SAFE cables.
2008
IS exceeds 3.50Gbps of international bandwidth & 18.143Tb of National Backbone bandwidth *Feb 2008
2009
IS is awarded i-ECNS and i-ECS license
