The upside is that the demand for online functionality represents a growing market for Internet service providers (ISPs) of all sizes, operating within a variety of business models. It is no longer necessary for ISPs to have entered the industry with the arrival of the Internet.

That said, ISPs without local infrastructure as well as those with owned assets will, at some stage, need to work with an experienced partner to provide consistently high-quality service to customers.

Internet Solutions (IS) offers wholesale solutions that connect global carriers and domestic ISPs to and within Africa, through the largest managed services network on the continent.

Our six operating offices in South Africa, Mozambique, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria, and 66 points of presence in 16 regional markets, give us the reach and unique exposure to handle the business conditions that can make or break an enterprise in these regions.

For more than 20 years, IS has invested in long distance and last mile networks – the latter is especially challenging in Africa where customers are geographically dispersed, often across underdeveloped footprints.

Even when an ISP has the experience and capital resources to install new infrastructure, it makes strategic sense to collaborate with an industry partner already active in a certain location. You need a partner who has already managed the process in markets that have unique regulatory, financial compliance and market dimensions.

Importantly, we have built and maintained relationships with trusted, in-country service providers. We understand how consumers use data and can project future usage patterns as populations grow and disposable income increases.

To support these unique insights, we offer 210 Gbps bandwidth over West and East African coastal cable systems. Our investments in Sat 3, Main One, WACS, Seacom, EASSy, TEAMs and SAF offer real service redundancy on an international level.

Internet Solutions’ 15 500m of data centre space in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and London, as well as our 3 500 VSAT terminals with teleports in South Africa, Mozambique, Nigeria and Germany provide scale and flexibility so we can offer solutions to any ISP, from the largest multinational carrier to a small emerging enterprise.

What remains is the increasingly vital component of customer service, which we entrust to our wholesale clients.
