Two men giving each other a high five

When employees feel appreciated at work, it increases their engagement and productivity, which results in a thriving working space. IS provides all the necessary tools and training for each employee to help them work more efficiently. We also encourage them to further their studies, which are fully invested by us. We spoke to Anesu Chingono, Voice – Presales Consultant at Internet Solutions, who has seen this for himself. Let’s take a closer look at his journey with us.

Where were you working before you joined IS?

I was at a health journalism company, HealthInSite.

What was your first role when you joined IS?

I was appointed as a Business Development Administrator in the Communications Business Unit.

Can you tell us a bit about your career journey at IS?

I started my first role in late 2012. After a year there, I was appointed as a Business Development Consultant in the Communications BU where I have since remained. My title has changed from BDC to Solutions Consultant to Pre-sales Consultant (which is what it is today).

What has been your main highlight over the years at IS? (If you have more than one, feel free to mention them)

  • I was selected as the Business Development Newcomer of the year in my business unit in 2014.
  • I achieved over 120% of my sales target in 2014.
  • I was part of the Dimension Data Collaboration deal of the year for the proposed solution to Webber Wentzel in 2015.
  • I was nominated to study for the Dimension Data Programme for Management Development in 2016.

What do you enjoy the most about your job, or working at IS?

I think the flexibility to express my personality in my own role and the ability to think out of the box and craft complex technical/commercial solutions for clients.

What do you enjoy the least about your job?

Definitely the operational overhead/support troubleshooting despite my engagement supposedly as a “pre-sales” role.

What have you learnt or gained over the years regarding personal growth?

IS has been a fantastic learning experience for me, technically and personally. I have matured as a person with IS, learnt a lot and developed as a well-rounded business consultant.

What would you say to someone who wants to join IS?

Be yourself, don’t adjust to IS, let your personality become part of IS.
