Mobile connectivity is increasingly becoming the norm for businesses as they adapt to a new way of working in a world that’s now more interconnected than ever. Through IS, wholesalers have an opportunity to facilitate that mobility while diversifying their service offerings by adding mobile data solutions. The answer is wholesale APN.

Why wholesale APN?

Mobility is now an essential part of business ICT solutions as workforces increasingly operate remotely and on the go. This requires mobile data which, especially in South Africa, still costs a premium. But your customers need not be bound to these high rates. Through IS you can offer your customers innovative solutions that cater to their precise needs, enabling them to stay connected from wherever they may be, at highly competitive rates. You can act as a single wholesale connectivity provider, serving their workplaces, homes and mobile devices with one contract.

APN from IS

Access Point Name (APN) refers to the settings used by a mobile device to establish a connection to the gateway between the carrier’s cellular network and the public Internet. The carrier will examine the APN identifier to determine the type of network connection to be established – i.e. the IP address to be assigned, the security methods to be employed and whether (and how) to connect to a private network.

Wholesale APN from IS allows you to capitalise on a bulk data service that facilitates access for your customers to the Internet or a private corporate network over the Vodacom, MTN, Telkom or Cell C mobile networks via 3G, 4G or LTE. Our solution applies a usage-based payment model to ensure maximum cost-effectiveness for your customers. They also don’t need to commit to long-term contracts with large operators to benefit from competitive data rates.

More choices

Depending on your product offerings, and to give your customers the widest choice, you can provide mobile data services as individual products or as a bundled product with DSL or fibre. SIMs are offered on a monthly basis, ensuring greater flexibility without the need to commit to long-term contracts.

We offer a shared APN package or a corporate APN. The shared option provides pay-as-you-use Internet connectivity over shared infrastructure while the corporate option provides exclusive access to a private network over dedicated infrastructure.

A little extra

Threshold reporting is provided for the monitoring of mobile data usage and capping helps with budget management since you only pay for the data that you use. And our billing model incentivises growth with volume discounting.

Our online platform, Mobility Manager, makes billing and the provisioning of SIM cards so easy. You can also use it to check your data usage, your bill, and to download reports. Our security protocols ensure that only authorised SIM cards can connect to a corporate APN and can be easily deactivated if lost or stolen. If you need any assistance, our helpdesk is available 24/7.
