Infrastructure for innovation
A next-level co-location hosting solution
As more companies make cloud migration part of their IT strategy, carriers and Internet service providers (ISPs) are under pressure to offer networking and cloud services that can accommodate growing demand.
Whether you’re looking for pure co-location or an effective way to provision fibre connections, our extensive, high-performing data centre network offers a range of services that can support your business expansion and the demands of your end customers.
Because we specialise in connectivity and interconnectivity, you can regard our data centres as being both wholesale co-location providers and Internet data centres.
A next-level co-location hosting solution
Providing our clients with the right infrastructure to meet their business needs lies at the heart of our data centre network. Not only does it give you the necessary security, capability and presence to remain at the forefront of your industry, but it also provides you with confidence and peace of mind so that you can focus on innovating where it matters.
Our extensive data centre network comprises 12 data centres in South Africa’s major business hubs. Our key data centres are aligned with TIA-942 rated 3 and Uptime Institute Tier 3 design and constructed facility requirements. We adopt a concurrently maintainable infrastructure in which we guarantee the highest levels of uptime on both power and cooling. The power infrastructure, from generator right up to power distribution at a rack level, conforms to a 2N design. Diverse A and B paths allow for maintenance to occur while keeping the power up.
Our cooling infrastructure adopts a similar topology, with dual power feeds to the cooling systems ensuring the systems are always up and running.
We also have a well-established footprint across the rest of Africa, giving you access to high-performing infrastructure that’s maintained to the highest standards.
Our fibre optic network enables high-speed access to all hosted services. Thanks to multiple connectivity failovers through wireless and satellite links, we can ensure maximum availability. Generators and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems also protect against continuity issues that may arise from power outages.
All equipment resides in a controlled, secure environment. Our sophisticated surveillance and biometric access control systems prevent unauthorised entry to the facilities themselves, while network access-control systems and advanced firewalls protect what’s inside.
Choose from our range of co-location centre options
We offer a wide range of services, and options for managing those services, so you can focus on your core business. Our co-location solution offers access to a data centre rental option, where you simply select the cabinet size and infrastructure you need, and build on what you have as you require more. Rack space options include:
Standard racks are 43U x 600 mm x 1,000 mm and are all racks and vaults are biometrically controlled. You may supply your own racks as part of a co-location arrangement. We also offer vaulted areas should you wish to have even more additional security.
Cat 6 and fibre optic structured cabling, including microducts and fibre optic sleeves, enable fast connections to third parties. Structured cabling options include:
You can provision your own fibre infrastructure or use our on-site structured cabling teams to install copper and fibre connections to your customers. Diverse routes ensure additional resilience in the data centre.
Connect to community-driven Internet exchanges
Because we’re still fundamentally an Internet company, all our data centre environments are carrier neutral. In addition, our local facilities have connections into the community-driven Internet exchanges JINX, CINX and DINX (Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban Internet Exchanges). Internet Exchange is an autonomous division of the Internet Service Providers Association of South Africa(ISPA).
Back-to-back service level agreements (SLAs) are in place to guarantee the safety, performance and availability of all equipment in our data centres.
Our data centres are maintained to the highest international standards and constantly monitored to ensure optimal functioning.
If you need assistance with reboots, rack and stack, or just basic troubleshooting on your servers, switches and firewalls that are hosted in our data centres, you can sign up for our 24/7 Smart Hands service at selected data centres. Our experienced engineers will be your “hands on deck” when you aren’t able to physically intervene on site.
